Solar powered future

The International Energy Agency recently estimated that by 2060 solar energy will account for more than half the world’s energy power.  IEA base its predictions on the fact that as the renewable energy technology improves, its price will decrease.

"Photovoltaic and concentrated solar power together can become the major source of electricity. You'll have a lot more electricity than today but most of it will be produced by solar-electric technologies." says Cedric Philibert, a senior analyst at IEA.

As we move away from fossil fuel, towards renewable energy, the output of carbon emission will decline. Expanding our use of solar, hydro, biomass and wind energy will reducing the global warming effect and help stabilize the climate changes.

  1. It's a good thing. Wonder how this will affect world economy. The US dollar has power because all OPEC business is done in US dollars (except a while back when Iraq tried to use the new euro dollar to buy oil, and then there was war). The central banks of all countries have to have US dollars on hand in order to buy oil. Wonder if there will still be much of a demand for the US dollar if there is little demand for oil. Oh well, clean, renewable energy is a good thing!

  2. Wow if that happens in the future then obtaining energy to power houses will be much cheaper add easier to do. Even though i might be 70 years old by the time this happens it would be nice to see it happen.
