Traffic problems, Begone!

With the oil reserves getting depleted and motor companies shifting towards green energy, an all-electric car seems like the best choice for the future. That is good, because reducing the CO2 emissions is always better for our environment.

However our population is constantly growing. More people equal more cars equals more traffic. Now, imagine what the roads will look like 50 years from now with 3 billion more cars on the way.
The people from GM though about it and came up with a concept car that will be all-electric, space efficient and has an auto-pilot function.

Enter the EN-V

The concept car of the future is powered by a lithium-ion battery. It will use gyroscopic sensors to balance the car’s weight and tilt. EN-V will have a communication system. It will use sonar to detect other cars, cyclists, and pedestrians. Some of its other gadgets include –GPS, cameras and car-to-car communication, which combined with the sonar, will allow the car to drive all by itself. Another neat function the car will have, let’s you use a smartphone to program your EN-V to park itself and return to you when you need it.

GM will start testing the car soon in Tianjin Eco-city, China. I guess we won’t see the car on the market for the next 10 years. Nevertheless it is good to know that we have a trump card in our sleeve, to thwart the ever-growing traffic problems.

  1. Wow! This is awesome! My daughter wants one! This will certainly revolutionize the auto industry. I wonder how long it will take for them to be low enough in cost for the majority to be able to afford. I can't wait!
